CEO - Dr. Adam L. Selhorst, PhD, MBA, MS, MA
Dr. Adam L. Selhorst is a dynamic entrepreneur and organizational leader with a proven ability to scale businesses ethically, optimize operations, and drive sustainable growth. As co-founder of AXS Leadership Capital, Adam leverages knowledge gained through his academic and executive experiences in business strategy, data-driven decision-making, and organizational leadership to identify and transform high-potential companies into thriving enterprises.
Adam holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship, an MS in Public Policy and Management, and an MS and PhD in Environmental Science. He has further enhanced his business acumen through executive education in a variety of disciplines, including AI, corporate finance, accounting, marketing, and organizational leadership, at leading institutions, including MIT, Cornell, Yale, Notre Dame, and Ohio State University, and through completion of Harvard University's prestigious Management Development Program.
In addition to his educational experiences, Adam has held key leadership roles at various institutions, including Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships, Associate Provost, and Executive Dean. He is a dedicated educator and researcher, teaching business, science, and research methodology at multiple universities. Through these and other key roles, he has established successful long-term strategic plans, built large multidisciplinary teams, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, and established valuable corporate partnerships.

Committed to operational excellence, long-term value creation, and employee satisfaction, Adam is passionate about acquiring and scaling businesses that align with his strategic vision, ensuring sustainable growth in an evolving marketplace.
COO - Krista L. Selhorst, ALM
As co-founder of AXS Leadership Capital, Krista L. Selhorst brings decades of leadership experience across multiple industries, including real estate, sales, customer service, and healthcare. Her ability to navigate complex business environments and drive sustainable growth, while focusing on employee and customer satisfaction, makes her a key force behind the firm’s acquisition and management strategy.
With a strong liberal arts foundation bolstered by a master’s degree in finance from Harvard University, Krista blends analytical precision with a people-centric leadership philosophy. Having worked with small businesses, startups, and larger corporations, Krista brings a wealth of experience, most recently serving as Integrator and Chief Operating Officer for a prominent San Diego real estate firm. Through this role and others, she spearheaded operational efficiencies, optimized team satisfaction and performance, and led strategic initiatives that contributed to long-term business success.
Krista specializes in refining business operations, streamlining processes, and implementing high-impact strategies to enhance sustainable growth while fostering a positive workplace culture. She is committed to balancing financial performance with employee well-being, ensuring that organizations scale effectively and maintain dedicated team cohesion and morale.
